Lebanon, Veteran's Day Parade, 2009

Veteran's Day Parade in Lebanon, Tennessee, what a beautiful day, and what an extremely heartwarming turnout. Adults and school children lined the streets from the Library to the Courthouse. Here are some pictures, if you people have any you would like posted, please email them to me, or bring them this coming Wednesday morning to Old Neighborhood, I will scan them and post them, for all to see. You should be able to click on each picture, and they will open large enough for you to see better. At our age, bigger is really, much, much, better. Semper Fi ~Sarge

Important Updates

Here are a couple pics from the Traveling Vietnam Wall, Manchester, TN.
F.Y.I. If you click on each picture, you can see it full size. Some of you may have to double-click the picture. Enjoy, ~Sarge
Remember, we have a Veteran's Day Parade on Wednesday Nov. 11th in Lebanon. Meeting time will be no later than 0930 at the Lebanon Library. Doc said so!!!

Also that evening, we are invited to add our chapter to a Veteran's Day Salute at Immanuel Baptist Church, on Castle Heights Blvd., in Lebanon. We are all invited for supper at 1700 (5:00PM) and take part in a program honoring all Veterans, and our fallen comrades. It would be nice if as many can make it as possible. Please contact Ronnie Hobbs at 680-2242, or email me: jerryvva1004@gmail.com, your attendance would be greatly appreciated, I believe you can also bring your families as long as we know in advance so that the correct amount of food can be prepared. We all know that Vietnam Vets don't sit well, when they're hungry, right?, Right!!! If you and your family do plan on attending, please let us know how many to plan for, we will need this information by this coming Sunday. Also, if any of you have some Vietnam War memorabilia, please bring it along for display at the church. Thanks, ~ Sarge
Attn: Here is an update, our Chapter 1004, will not be participating in a Veteran's Day program at Immanuel Baptist. There is just not enough time to put together a program. However, all of us are still invited to a free Veteran's Supper, and we will still need to know how many of us plan to attend, and we'll still need to know by Sunday, for the same reason as stated above. Thanks, ~Sarge

Traveling Vietnam Wall, UPDATE

As requested this morning at The Old Neighborhood Grill, I searched and searched, finally, I made contact with the Editor of the Manchester Times Newspaper. YES, the Wall will traveling through, and on display in Manchester, TN. tomorrow, Thursday the 29th of Oct., around 10AM at the Westwood Junior High School football field. For more information, click on the following link: http://www.manchestertimes.com/ , this will get you to the front page of the paper. The editor promised she would put an article with all the info, for those who are interested in attending the ceremony, which I understand a parade and all the pomp and circumstance will be afforded the Wall. It any of you can attend, please take a few pictures, and pass them on to me for posting on this Blog. Thanks, ~Sarge

Also, WELCOME BACK BOBBY KIRK, it was great to see you this morning!!! I'm sure I speak for the entire chapter. Praise the Lord for your speedy recovery!!! ~Sarge
